Having lived in this beautiful city for 15 years, I have a deep connection to its streets and inhabitants. I first moved to Budapest to study at the University of Technology and Economics, and it was during my time there that I earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
Although I had lived in Budapest for many years, I only began taking street photos when I started photography school in 2019. As someone who spent over eight years living in the so-called “ghetto” of Budapest, I was intimately familiar with the city’s gritty and trashy atmosphere. Despite this, I found myself drawn to the surrealistic beauty that was hidden amongst the chaos. Riding my skateboard through the city streets with my trusty film camera, I captured moments that were both raw and poetic.
